34^ PIERRA MENTA – 13 / 16 MARCH 2019

Pierra Menta has become the reference race, a must for the elite of this discipline.

It takes place every year in March from 1986 in France, in Arêches-Beaufort in Savoie, a summer resort and winter sports resort in the Beaufort region, in the heart of the Beaufortain, on the slopes of the Grand-Mont.

The format of the race is the trademark of this unmissable international competition that is repeated every winter: a particularly demanding marathon of the peaks, which requires a great resistance on the up-hill as well as an impeccable downhill technique.

Over 430 competitors will compete (in teams of two) along four stages in four days for over 10,000 m of cumulative positive height gain.
200 competitors in the 15-20 year category, on the other hand, will compete during the Pierra Menta “Young” from Friday 15 March; meet the other participants on Saturday, 16th, for the emblematic stage of the Grand Mont, during which thousands of spectators will rise to 2,686 meters altitude to cheer for the athletes.

Every year the greatest ski mountaineering champions participate in the race so we may have lot of fun.
